Hvetshrenu, the Hvetshran language, includes the different variants used by Hvetshran over the entire territory they live in. Hvetshrenu is not just spoken words, as body language and gestures, as well as other sounds made by the body can make a difference in meaning.

Expressed language[]

Since 'spoken language' is not a good term here, 'expressed language' is more accurate to describe the use of Hvetshrenu. The Hvetshran speak by using a number of short sounds, monosyllabic words, some of which would be described as growls or roars by a human, as their pitch goes very low. Sometimes these spoken syllables are replaced by sound effects such as tapping the hand against the chest or scratching scales, to fill in the auditive function. Almost every sound then is accompanied by a certain gesture, mostly with the head, the hands or the tail.

Spoken language[]

The actual spoken part in Hvetshrenu, apart from what is discussed above, are the loanwords from actual human languages. On the other hand, it is to be noted that only small numbers of loanwords enter Hvetshrenu, since few Hvetshran have made contact with humans and even fewer came back to their clan.

Do however not mix the loanwords with Khujmül, the use of (a Hvetshranised version of) the local human language for i.e. official meetings. This is a different case, as it is not in use generally and only a small group of adults in the clan are familiar with this.

Loanwords from Slovakian[]

Loanwords from German[]

The Tßradj clan, a rather big clan located in the Black Forest, in the south of Germany, plays quite a big role in the adoption of German loanwords in Hvetshrenu.

Grammar[]

Grammatical differences in Hvetshrenu (conjugations, ...) are made clear either by adding sounds, adding gestures or a mixture of the both.

Syntax[]

Main article: Syntax

Declarative and interrogative sentences in Hvetshrenu start with the main or meaning-bearing verb, then followed by the subject. Imperative sentences however start with the subject, as it is regarded to be the addressee, and then continue with the main or meaning-bearing verb.

Writing system[]

Main article: Transcription of Hvetshrenu

Hvetshrenu is not a written language, and thus it has no alphabet or writing system of its own. In the case humans use it, such as on this Wiki, it is transcribed in their own alphabet. Often, this is the Latin alphabet, but theoretically it can be written in Cyrillic, Greek, Kana, Hangul or Abjad alphabets.

Variants[]

There are small variations in the Hvetshran language used in the different clans or the clans of different regions. When these use different pronunciation of some words, they are often transcribed differently. Sometimes, they also use different words for the same idea.
